I’m leaving for Oregon in less than a week! I’ll be attending the wedding of Michael and Evie, who are very good friends of mine. I’ve just finished the embroidery on a tablecloth I’ve made for Evie, and now I’ll just need to spend a marathon sewing hour at Nana’s while she helps me finish the edges. It will probably happen tonight or tomorrow.

In addition to the lovely little blue swirl flowers, I embroidered two scripture verses: Psalm 28:7 and Psalm 27:1. The lettering isn’t the most beautiful thing in the world, since I do spend too much time on the lazy-daisy stitches and less on the planning of the lettering, but I think that the end result is rather charming. I like the way all of the letters are different and random. It’s very unique, to say the least.
In addition to the tablecloth, I’ll finally get to give away the beautiful little marriage notecard I’ve had for three years! I’ve been wondering who would be the perfect recipient, and now I finally have one! In the note, I’ll say something to the effect of, “The Bible tells us to write Scripture ‘on the posts of thy house, and on thy gates’, so I thought, having verses on a tablecloth would be even better…” Eh, I haven’t really nailed down the wording. I’ll do that soon.
In addition to that project (which, once I finish up the edges, iron it repeatedly, check three more times for any stains or marks, fold it up and wrap it, I can check off of my list) I’m also about to start working on a little project for my darling sister, whose 8th birthday is rapidly approaching.

I found this fabric at Thimbles (a little sewing shop where I work) and the minute I saw it I thought – “This looks just like Abby!” I bought a yard of it (with my 20% employee discount
) and now I think I’ve decided that I’ll make a skirt out of it. More of a pencil skirt, since I do only have a yard. In fact, she already owns a skirt that is almost exactly like the one I’m envisioning, so I’m going to measure it and create a pattern from it. I’ll keep you updated!
These are just two of the MANY projects that I always have going. I’m choosing to post about them because, first of all, I know that my little sister doesn’t read my blog, or any blogs for that matter, and I also know that Evie doesn’t read my blog. If, in the unlikely case, she does read this little blog of mine, I know from her facebook that she is SO busy right now, she’ll have absolutely no time to be reading anything between now and the wedding.
So, for my blog readers, enjoy! And, for those who know the above mentioned recipients of these gifts, let’s keep these surprises on the down-low. Thank you. ![]()
Stay tuned – I’ll be blogging my whole trip to Oregon starting next week!
